APPLYING FOR A GRANT
For the majority of funds within the Renton Community Foundation, we do not accept grant applications or requests. Most of our funds either donor-advised or agency-advised funds, meaning we take our lead from others when disbursing money from those funds. There are a couple of exceptions explained below.
FIRST FINANCIAL NORTHWEST FOUNDATION FUND
This fund was created by the board of First Financial Northwest Foundation, who serves as its donor advisors. This is a regional fund, serving King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties. Going forward, this fund will only be conducting one grant cycle per year and has gone to a Letter of Inquiry process. Click on the FFNWF Grant button to the left to access information on the Letter of Inquiry process and 2016 deadline.
CIRCLE OF GIVING
Each year, the Foundation raises unrestricted money through a program called “Circle of Giving.” Donors are asked to make gifts of $1,000 or more and then are given the privilege of helping to decide how grants will be disbursed. Since 1999, almost $400,000 has been given back to the community through this program. RCF no longer accepts applications for these grants. Instead, donors are asked to recommend an organization with which they are familiar. Grants typically range between $500 and $4,000 and most often can be used for operations.
