LOCAL NONPROFITS SERVING THOSE IN NEED

The need for services in our community is growing quickly. For instance, when we conduct a cycle of grants for the First Financial Northwest Foundation, we typically receive requests for more than double the amount of money we have available! All of these organizations can use your support, whether it’s in the form of cash donations, in-kind gifts, or volunteer service. These nonprofits are on the front line, providing critical services to the growing number of people in our community who struggle every day to get back to “normal.” Please give them a call and find out how you can help.

HOW TO PUT TOGETHER A CARE PACKAGE FOR SOMEONE WHO IS HOMELESS

Not everyone needs an iPad or smart phone. Some folks need the basic necessities. Consider donating items to one of the local shelters, or put together a couple of care packages and carry them in your car to give to someone the next time you see them on the street.

CARE PACKAGE ITEMS

Toothbrush & toothpaste

Deodorant

Lip balm

Baby wipes

Lotion

Sunscreen

Maxipads

Kleenex

Water bottle

Clean socks

Fruit snack or applesauce cups

Granola or cereal bar

Comb or small brush

Put everything in a zip-lock bag to keep things dry. Take care not to put something with a strong fragrance with food items.
