To date, we have distributed nearly $1.7 million to 133 organizations in South King County. You can go here for a list of grantees.
We started the CARE Together Fund (Communities Aligned Around Racial Equity) to address the systemic racism and inequities in our society. Compared to other areas in King County, South King County experiences the greatest disparities in economic and health vitality. Recent changes in federal policies are intensifying these challenges. RRCF’s CARE Together Fund helps to address these challenges by offering nimble funding to small, primarily Black and Brown serving and immigrant led and serving organizations in our region who are closest to the ground and are best poised to provide solutions in the community.
Most of the organizations who have received a CARE Together grant operate with budgets below $1 million – many have budgets that are $200K or less. All are focused on South King County. Much of the funding RRCF has provided has addressed the greatest needs identified in our annual Nonprofit Survey Report – food access, housing, and mental health.
To learn more about the impact of the CARE Together Fund you can read our 2025 report, 2024 report, and our 2023 report.
Our summer 2026 application process is now closed. We will reopen sometime later this fall.
Please consider making a contribution today.
How are grants made from the fund?
There is no application process. A committee made up of representatives from community organizations work with RRCF’s Executive Director (see list below) to identify the greatest community needs as they emerge in this rapidly changing environment. If this fund continues to grow, we will re-evaluate the need for an application process. If you have questions or would like to put your group’s name in front of the committee, contact us here. View our Grants to see the list of grantees to date.
As a donor, should I give to this fund instead of to other non-profits?
The CARE Together Fund was not created to be the only vehicle for getting needed resources into the community, but to help facilitate getting more targeted resources into the community. This is a critical time for so many, including the nonprofit organizations who’ve benefited from your giving in the past, as well as those who’ve had to cancel their annual fundraising events or depend heavily on public gatherings. Please continue to give to organizations you regularly support, and those that need your help at this crucial time. Now is the time to double down for our community.

”Renton Regional Community Foundation was a key support for our immigrant-2-immigrant program and youth empowerment program to respond to our community urgent needs during this pandemic. Not only through the funding we received from them, but also through the support and connection with other organization responders we received during non-profit conversations. Our community is only strong and resilient when working together."
