To strengthen and expand philanthropy as a way to improve the quality of life in the greater Renton area by:

• Increasing the flow of charitable dollars to priority areas of need;
• Helping local nonprofits be successful;
• Building endowments to provide needed resources for future generations;
• Enhancing investment returns by pooling funds.

CAR TAB BUS PASS PROGRAM

Did you know that when you renew your car tabs, you can help someone in need? When you write your check and the car tabs are returned to you, you will get a notice that King County Metro would like to give you 8 bus passes. If you don't need them, you can donate them to a pool of bus passes for county nonprofits. However, if you would like a local nonprofit to get them, 1) check the box to have them sent to you, and then, 2) send them to us. The Renton Community Foundation is working with local nonprofits, trying to help them solve some of their transportation issues and has set up a tracking system to disburse them to the groups who need them most. While you won't get anything tangible in return (not even a tax deduction) it's easy, it's free and you might just help someone get to a job interview, a doctor's appointment, or to the food bank. We hope you'll think it's worth it just the same.
