2007 CIRCLE OF GIVING:

RCF gifted nearly $50,000 at our 8th annual Circle of Giving Awards Ceremony on January 11, at Renton Technical College. With an audience of nearly 140, Master of Ceremonies, Dan Kellogg, introduced Renton’s new Mayor, Denis Law, for opening remarks before Lynn Bohart, FAHP, Executive Director, gave a year-end report. King Parker, RCF President, gave out $41,800 in Circle of Giving grants, while Steve & Marcie Maxwell handed out $6,500 in grants to worthy organizations.

SITE VISITS

The Renton Community Foundation will begin a new site visit program in order to collect information on charitable organizations in the communities where we make grants. A new committee will begin shortly developing guidelines and procedures.

HEALTHY COMMUNITY INITIATIVE

The Foundation Board of Directors voted at their retreat last year to develop a plan-of-action by the end of 2008 to gather information on priority needs in our area. Information will be made available to donors to help direct their philanthropy to areas in which they feel passion.

PARTIES WITH A PURPOSE

Our first series of fund/friend raising events was a big success and work will begin soon on the next. Potential themes include a mystery dinner, 50s Rock, cooking show, hunt for gnomes and much more. Look for your invitation in the mail or email us if you would like to be added to the mailing list. Prices range from $50 - $150 per person.
